Green Point Christian College

Head of Primary

Green Point, Central Coast NSW

Full Time, Senior Leadership Position

Thank you for considering a role at Green Point Christian College

At Green Point Christian College we are passionate about the way in which we seek to fulfill our core purpose to equip students for a life of redemptive action through a holistic education grounded in a Biblical perspective. As active, committed evangelical Christians, the College’s staff are focused on accomplishing this purpose through the manner in which they personally and professionally fulfill their roles and responsibilities.

The Role

As a member of the Executive, the Head of Primary will actively participate in the leadership and decision making for the school via participation in strategic discussions and collaborative team meetings. You will then lead your team through a process of development and be responsible for implementing the Purpose and Mission of Green Point Christian College in the context of Kindergarten to Year 6 students.

The Head of Primary will demonstrate Godly leadership, not only in the way you manage your staff, but in the way you relate to students, parents and to the wider school community. This leadership role mirrors that of the Head of Secondary (HoSS), with both roles reporting directly to the Principal and working closely with the Deputy Principal. In collaboration with the Principal and Deputy Principal, you will work to develop and implement School Improvement Plan initiatives and provide operational oversight into the day-to-day running of the Primary School. This will include giving clear and strategic direction to Kindergarten to 6 activities, leading assemblies, delivering staff and student devotions, active involvement in school events, and in helping to establish and maintain the cultural expectations in Primary School.

With responsibilities to staff, you will consult widely with Directors, Co-ordinators and teachers to implement project initiatives that will support our teachers in their teaching. You will ensure quality and compliant teaching practices and be cognisant of staff wellbeing.

Your responsibilities to students will not only ensure they are provided with high quality teaching, but that they are encouraged to think biblically about the relevant area of study and are challenged to develop and use their gifts wisely. You will also oversee child safe cultures that promote positive wellbeing for students and implement discipline and welfare programs.

You will help build a strong Parent Partnership presence that supports our community on both a day-to-day level as well as in Primary School events and programs. You will also manage parent concerns in accordance with School policies and procedures.
